Bio
John Lopez, born in the San San Antonio Texas in 1991. Son of a Hispanic family, and an artistic bloodline. John grew up on the south side of town where he was always getting into his own mischief by spreading his art through graffiti, sometimes not with any permission or consent.
His love for art transformed when he hit that the age of 17. Just graduated from high school, he decided to use his skills in another way, Tattooing. John utilized his artistic ability for several hours,days,weeks and wasted no time progressing even with his job as a bartender at the Alamo draft house. His family and also his girlfriends family were always supportive and did what they could to help him succeed with his goals.
In 2010 just 1 year from his graduation, and with only 1 year of experience, John stopped into Unlimited Tattoos in southwest side of town, Where he then met a small friendly crew of artist of many styles. He became very close with them to the point where they offered him an apprenticeship. He took it on the spot, even though the only experience John had with tattoos was very little. Regardless, the next day John moved in his equipment he had available, tuned up his machine and started tattooing that day.
“I had always wanted to do art for a living and knew i was on the path i paved for myself to do what i loved doing, creating art.”
John did more tattoos and always utilized his own style into his custom drawn tattoo work. He had always had a big fan base since he had been an artist his whole life and was very social in school, so business was always booming for him.
“Some of my friends still have drawing i did in their binders or folders in class, in my head im like why did you keep this crap? Haha”
But his creative artistic value was always appreciated so it made him feel good for being who he is as a tattooist.
John started being featured on numerous websites, pages , and magazines from Austin and San Antonio including the San Antonio current, which gave him the chance to tattoo many people such as professional athletes, singers and musicians, life was getting better through the experience he was having.
Right in the middle of his career boom he noticed that many of my clients were coming in from all over the coast to get tattooed.
“I want my clients to feel special and to know that I appreciate them. I just wanted to give them more of my myself and my creativity.”
And he did give more of himself by implementing his own style into his clients request. Sometimes with no request and his own art would end up on someones flesh. John has a true passion, not only does it pay homage to classic tattooing, but it also represents hard work and true dedication . It reminds him to stay grounded and focused on what is important.
Today John is extremely humbled by the love and support of his fans, friends, and family. He continues to learn by only getting tattooed by people he can learn from. He spends his life dedicated to tattooing and plans for traveling the World and spending time with his family.
